A FUNDRAISING showjumping event is returning to a riding centre near Malvern.

The Pink Show returns to the Hill View Stables, Blackmore Park Road, following the success of last year's inaugural event.

More than 100 riders, many wearing pink, turned up to the venue to support the event, which was held in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Carrie Tandy, one of the organisers, said: "Last year's show came about just after a chance conversation about a friend of mine who did a similar thing in the States.

"We had eight weeks to organise and I was hoping to raise around £1,000, so I was over the moon when the grand total raised was over £3,000.

"The day was a huge success and I had so many people contact me to tell me what an amazing day they'd had, so when they began asking me whether or not I would be holding another show this year, I couldn't not.

"This year's event is Sunday, September 10. We are running the same classes as last year so there's something for everyone.

"Each class has been sponsored by local businesses so there is a prize for first place, plus we have had some amazing prizes for this year's raffle including a Spa day worth £130 from The Malvern, tickets to the Autumn show, tours of the Morgan factory, a signed picture of Olympic gold medalist Nick Skelton & Big Star from British Showjumping plus much, much more."
