DRIVERS experienced delays as a result of roadworks in the city.
Temporary traffic lights have been set up in Castle Street, Worcester, the Tything, and Foregate Street.
There has been a build up of traffic in the area as a result of the work in the Tything.
Severn Trent Water is connecting new houses to the water system and the work should finish tomorrow (August 4).
Ant Summers, aged 44, of St Michael's Road, Worcester, wrote on Facebook: "[It] took half an hour to get from Co-op [in] Ombersley Road to Castle Street at noon yesterday. Avoid at all costs!"
Resident Colin Rouse also got caught up in the traffic in Castle Street and almost missed a doctor's appointment.
A spokesman for Severn Trent Water said: “We’re working in Worcester to connect up some new properties to the water supply.
“To keep our engineers safe while we work there are temporary traffic lights in place and we’re really sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
“The work should be complete by tomorrow and we’ll work as quickly as we can to get everything back to normal.”
