UP to 750 new jobs will be created with the latest development at Malvern Hills Science Park'

Work has just begun on the site's Phase Seven, to build over 20,000 square metres of new commercial space for technology businesses off Geraldine Road.

A partnership comprising QinetiQ, Malvern Hills District Council, Worcestershire County Council and the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership is developing 4.5 hectares of brownfield land on the site.

The site, located adjacent to Malvern Hills Science Park and the Malvern Technology Centre, when fully developed, will bring forward creating up to 750 new, high value jobs.

Gary Woodman, chief executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “Malvern has built a reputation as a world-class location for cyber and technology businesses and we are seeing an increasingly high demand for investment opportunities in and around the science park.

"These new expansion plans will help Malvern to meet this increasing demand for investment and will help to create a large number of highly-skilled permanent jobs which will have a hugely positive impact on the local economy and for residents, businesses and employees.”

The development has been hailed by MP Harriett Baldwin, who has just been given a tour of the site by the science park’s chief executive Alan White.

She said: “Through this summer, I have been meeting businesses who report they are growing and looking to expand. Malvern Hills Science Park is a hugely attractive option and I know lots of companies who would like to take space on the site.

“There are some impressive plans to expand and I am told that fresh companies are lining up to take space.

“It is clear that many parts of Malvern’s business community are booming and I hope that this growth will lead to many more new jobs and greater wealth spent in the area.

“I offered Alan my support as he carries out his plans and look forward to seeing the new buildings emerge over the coming months.”
