A WOMAN is disgusted at rubbish being dumped by the bins outside her home.

Shirley Hughes, aged 78, of Ullswater Close, Worcester, said rats are tearing open the bin bags being left in her street.

There are dirty nappies, mattresses, bits of furniture and cans of alcohol around the bins outside her property.

Fortis Living said it is aware of 'irresponsible dumping' in the area and is trying to tackle it.

Ms Hughes said: "People are dumping rubbish in our bins. I don't know who's doing it.

"It isn't good enough. There's bags on the floor by the bins. There's room in the bins but they can't be bothered. They are lazy.

"The animals get them and it's all over the place, there's nappies there now that are full of babies' poo.

"They are all in different bags and they leave them on the floor. All of the food and everything is all over the blinking place.

"The green bins are for recycling but they are putting everything in there."

Ms Hughes thinks people living in a nearby development are responsible for the waste.

She has made several complaints to Fortis Living, who are responsible for the bins.

A Fortis Living spokesman said: "Irresponsible dumping of rubbish is an ongoing issue in this area and we are doing all we can to identify the causes and discourage it.

"We would encourage all residents to dispose of their rubbish appropriately and to think of the impact that their actions are having on their neighbours and their neighbourhood."
