THIS is Graham, a sweet black boy who really lives up to the phrase 'scaredy-cat'.

Graham is a seven-year-old male cat currently in the care of RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch, which is full to bursting point with cats.

He was handed in by a member of the public, who had been caring for him when he came to them underweight and beaten up by other cats.

Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: "Unfortunately, due to Graham's fear of other cats, they felt it unfair to keep him, as he was becoming so worried he refused to venture outside.

"Graham is a big softie with a sensitive nature. He really struggles in the cattery as he is surrounded by what he dislikes!

"He is a beautiful boy though and extremely fussy and sweet, once you've gained his trust.

"He is a big boy with lots of little grey flecks who frequently sleeps with the tip of his tongue out in his giant pink fluffy bed!

"We are looking for an adult home, without any other cats and without a dog, as we think he would find it scary.

"Graham has the potential to be an amazing affectionate fluff ball in a calm, patient home. He has been vet checked, neutered, vaccinated, chipped and up to date with his flea and worm treatments."

For more information about Graham or any of the branch's other cats seeking adoption, please call The Holdings Rescue & Rehoming Centre on 07484 905707 or 01905 841354.

Alternatively you can pop in and meet the cats (any day except Wednesdays) between 11am and 4pm at Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Kempsey, Worcester WR5 3FP.

Details of the charity's rescued animals are on the branch website rspcaworcester.org.uk.

There are no dogs at the centre yet and they are cared for at private boarding kennels until funds have been raised to build the new kennel block.

Rabbits are still in foster homes. The base for the new rabbit house is almost completed at The Holdings and work will start on the high quality accommodation in the near future.

Last week's featured dog, chocolate labrador Malcolm, has found a new home.

Mrs Haynes said: "There were lots of good calls from people interested in adopting him and he will be going to a wonderful home later this week, where he'll get lots of company and TLC, which he really deserves."
