A TEAM from Worcester Bosch Group has been lending a hand to help tidy the gardens and play areas at city-based Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The team of 25 from the Warndon-based central heating boiler manufacturer split into groups to tackle various projects in need of their help, spending a day planting, weeding and mowing.

One group looked after the children’s play area, ensuring it was safe and tidy for the little ones to have fun in, whole another group worked on maintaining the quiet outdoors seating areas.

A final group tidied up the boarders and pathways, to create lovely walkways for families to wander around.

Sue Pennington, consumer brand manager at Worcester Bosch Group, said: “The work that Acorns does is extremely inspiring and the team there provide outstanding support for the children and their families, so we wanted to give a little back by giving them a helping hand with their gardens.

"With the whole department working together it was a really effective team-building activity that we all thoroughly enjoyed.

"We hope that we helped to create gardens that the families can enjoy this summer.”

Katreena Barnes, volunteer manager at Acorns, added: “We are so grateful to everyone from Worcester Bosch for their enthusiasm and for putting in so much hard work.

"It was also a pleasure to share with the volunteers some of the work we do caring for children and supporting their families across the region.”
