The Worcester News Jobs and Careers Fair in association with Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is now just two weeks away and will take place at the Guildhall, Worcester, on Thursday, September 14th

Whether you are looking to embark on a nursing career within the NHS, return to the profession or looking for opportunities in a new organisation, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has a range of exciting nursing opportunities available across the Alexandra, Kidderminster and Worcestershire Royal Hospitals.

Marc Tarrant qualified as a nurse in 2003. After loving his placement as a student in the A&E department at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, Marc applied to join the department straightaway. “I came in to nursing a bit later than some, being in my thirties when I qualified,” Marc said.

“I loved my placement in A&E so much that I badgered the Matron for a job and eventually managed to get one - 14 years later, here I am as the Matron of the department myself,” Marc added.

“I was very passionate about helping people when I first started, and as my experience has grown, that passion has only grown over time as well.”

Marc puts his enthusiasm for his role, down to the team he works with. “I do it because it’s all about the team. As Matron I want to inspire confidence in all our staff, I care about each and every person in our team from the cleaners to the doctors, and I take pride in helping us work together as an inclusive team.”

“After all, we’re all here for one reason, and that is for us to deliver the best care we can for every patient.”
