IT’S the first busy weekend of a busy September in Worcester. Here's a few ideas for things to do if you're at a loose end.

1. Get the autograph of Tour of Britain stars, from 9am Sunday, September 10

It’s back. The Tour of Britain returns to Worcester and this time the city is hosting the start of the prestigious final leg.

The cycling stars will be outside The Hive for the start of the eighth phase of the Tour of Britain and you'll actually have the chance to mingle with some of the racers and get autographs.

2. Listen to a legend for 11 hours, from noon on Saturday, September 9

The ‘Concert of Legends’ at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, will see The Boomtown Rats, Billy Ocean and Paul Carrack perform throughout the day. Ray Lewis’ Drifters, Odyssey, Livin’ Joy, N-Trance and Baby D will also feature. It’s today but tickets are still available. You'll find more about it here

3. Taste salted fudge – at Droitwich’s popular Salt Fest, Saturday, September 9

The festival to celebrate the town’s salt heritage is more than ten years old. This year there are stalls, canal boat trips, a dog show, live music and Romans marching through the town. And what's a festival about salt - without salted fudge which sees brine salt on sale in the town for the first time in 100 years

4. Discover the culture on your doorstep – for free, Saturday, September 9, Sunday, September 10 and Monday, September 11

Worcester will be taking part in the country’s biggest festival of culture and heritage – Open Heritage Days - which is when places of interest throw open their doors for free. In the city, you can find out about the stinky Tudors, the civil war and Woodbine Willie, at lots of venues across the city.

5. Treat the grandparents, Saturday and Sunday

All Things Wild in Evesham has a special grandparents weekend offer where tickets are reduced to £5 per person for grandparents and grandchildren.
