RESIDENTS feared a sewer collapsed in a city street after spotting a sign about emergency works.
Readers saw the sign, which says 'suspected sewer collapse', in Albany Terrace, Worcester, today.
But Severn Trent Water said they have no record of a sewer collapse on their system and believe the sign may have been used because it was the only one available.
A company spokesman said they had been carrying out flood alleviation work in the road since Thursday, August 24.
They added: “We’ve been carrying out work on Albany Terrace to help stop some issues with flooding in the road.
“It’s gone well and we’re on schedule to finish today (September 15).”
