CYCLO-Cross competitors from across the country will descend on the The Foxley Estate at Mansel Lacy on Sunday for the third round of the Welsh series.

Promoted by Climb on Bikes, around 200 competitors will take part in age category races throughout the day starting with the under-eight children's race at 10am culminating in the veteran, ladies and seniors race at 1.30pm.

Cyclo-cross is a winter form of bike racing taking place in the autumn and winter months consisting of off-road grass and woodland sections to test competitor's fitness and bike handling skills.

Spectators are welcome and can watch for free.

The second round of the Welsh Cyclo-Cross League took place in Cardiff last Sunday and saw a host of local riders competing.

William Truelove (Climb on Bikes) took victory in the youth boys race adding to his victory in the first round a week earlier.

In the veteran's over 40 event, Gordon Park (NFTO Race Club) finished 21st, Michael Greaves (Gannet CC) 23rd and Lee Truelove (Climb on Bikes) 24th.

Tim Hutchinson (NFTO Race Club) finished eighth in the veteran's over 50 race and Ned Potter (Climb on Bikes) 14th.

In the senior men's race, Hefin Evans (NFTO Race Club) finished seventh.
