ONE of Worcestershire's favourite actors is set to marry.

Kit Harington, who plays the young Jon Snow in the colossally popular medieval HBO fantasy drama, Game of Thrones, has reportedly popped the question to co-star Rose Leslie.

The Sun quoted a source as saying they had told friends and family they would wed but were yet to set a date.

Kit, aged 30, moved to Worcestershire at the age of 11 and caught the acting bug at Chantry School in Martley, further developing his skills at Worcester Sixth Form College.

He moved away when he was 18 and his star has risen and risen.

But he has never forgotten his roots and returns to some of Worcester's popular haunts as well as his old schools.

Kit previously told us: "Worcestershire will always be my home. I will continue to come back.

"Whenever people ask me where I'm from I say from London - and a place called Worcester."

But will Kit remember his old friends and return to his old stomping grounds in the city for a stag celebration?

If so, here's 4 suggestions for Kit's stag...

1. VIP area at a nightclub

When he spoke to the Worcester News, Kit revealed he spent time at Tramps nightclub.

Dean Hill, manager of the popular nightspot, said: "We do lots of these type of events.

"You can book a room or a VIP area and our marketing team sort out a celebration package with balloons and champagne and bottles of spirits.

"It all depends on what you want. Velvet is a popular bar, part of the nightclub, and we do lots of stag dos and hen parties there. We'd give him the VIP treatment."

2. Live music followed by a pub crawl

Kit told us when he lived near Worcester he liked to visit Marr's Bar in Pierpoint Street. The live music venue would be a good place to start on a night out and it has an 'executive balcony' it hires out for stag dos. Brian Marr, the bar's owner, said: "We've had some big names here, Ed Sheeran being one.

"I think I'd let him in but would we need to get a throne for him to sit on?"

Kit also said he liked socialising with friends at Heroes in Friar Street on his return home so that would be a good place to move on to for a cocktail or two.

3. Dinner and drinks at Cathedral Square

In the past, Kit has told us that he often linked up with old friends at the Elgar Statue when he lived here. He probably wouldn't recognise that end of the High Street now. But if he wanted to meet up with friends for a meal, he could pick from quirky diner, Cosy Club, steak house Miller and Carter, pizza place Ask, All Bar One, and the ever-popular Yo Sushi.

4. Hot tub party at Worcester Warriors

Kit also told us he follows the progress of Worcester Warriors as he played scrum-half himself at Chantry. Perhaps he could kick off his stag do celebrations with a night at the Sixways club? Warriors' Head of Commercial Leyton Williams said: “We know Kit is a Warriors fan and we’d certainly welcome him if he wanted to enjoy his stag do here.

“We often get stag dos at Sixways and we offer hospitality boxes for £850 +VAT while our club partner Arctic Spa also have a hot tub balcony which he could bring his friends along to. But he should book sooner rather than later, as winter is coming…

“However, if he decided to ride in to Sixways on Daenerys’ dragon then he can have a box for free!”

...and 1 spectacular wedding venue?

The smouldering actor told us that he loves Worcester Cathedral, but if he and his bride-to-be wanted to marry there, it might not be so easy. He could ask but not just anyone can get married at the historic venue.

The Dean of Worcester, the Very Revd Peter Atkinson, said: "I'd like to send my warmest congratulations to the happy couple.

"The question of where and when anyone can get married in the Church of England starts with a conversation between the couple and their priest, in which the couple's connection to a particular place of worship can be explored."

We'd love it if they did though.
