The trust will work with in partnership with West Mercia Police, Redditch Borough Council, Hereford and Worcester Fire Service and Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire to tackle issues in the local area.

David Tittershill of Redditch United in the Community said: “The purpose of the trust is to tackle issues in the local area including reducing anti-social behaviour and crime, reducing health inequalities and increasing social inclusion.

“We are also hoping to boost participation in sports activity and to provide educational support to help increase the employability of young people.

“Tony impressed and mesmerised many football fans during his days as a player and we are delighted to have such an iconic figure to help launch our charity.”

Tickets for the charity evening on Friday, October 6, cost £25 which includes a drink and pie and chips supper.

There will also be a comedian and a raffle on the night with a number of star prizes.
