RAIL users travelling from Worcester Foregate Street may experience delays to their journeys this evening due to staff sickness.

Fewer trains are able to run through the station and times may be amended.

A spokesman from London Midland said due to curvature of the tracks trains are unable to self dispatch from the station.

Road transport will be in place between Worcester Foregate Street and Worcester Shrub Hill for passengers requiring it.

Trains between Worcester and Hereford are still running but via Shrub Hill.

They said: "If possible please allow a little extra time to travel. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."

The spokesman said the delay was not expect to be a "long term" problem and that anyone delayed for more than 30 minutes should apply to the company's Delay Repay service to get a refund.

There will be security staff at the station but these staff members are not trained to dispach trains.

Worcester Foregate Street is unmanned from 5pm today (Friday, September 29).

In Bromsgrove, due to trespassers on the line trains running through this station are having to run at reduced speeds.
