WARRIORS

8 PENNELL – first game of the season after a midweek run-out for the Cavaliers. Looked like he’d never been away and was outstanding under Saracens’ aerial bombardment. My man of the match.

6 Humphreys – didn’t get to see too much of the ball as his teammates looked to go through the middle.

7 Willison – impressed with the ball in hand and also put in some crunching tackles as the visitors looked for a fourth bonus try.

6 Te'o – Not the best of games against an all-star Sarrries attack. Was guilty of squandering a good chance when he knocked on.

6 Adams – bit of a mixed bag. Made some good breaks down the left flank but also guilty of missing some crucial tackles.

6 Shillcock – took the wrong option at times and some of his kicking lacked thought and direction. Did score Worcester’s only points though with a penalty.

6 Arr – worked hard and linked well with fly-half Shillcock but was never able to make much ground against a solid Saracens defence.

7 Bower – powerful display from the entire front row and he also carried well as Worcester looked to that elusive try .

7 Singleton – up against Lions hooker Jamie George and didn’t disappoint. Good varied ball to the line-out as well.

7 Alo – another good performance from the tight head who obviously relished the opportunity of playing against his former teammates.

6 O’Callaghan – won his fair share of line-out ball and worked hard but was overshadowed by opposition lock George Kruis.

6 Spencer – one of the few forwards to play the full 80 minutes and looked to be tiring at the end. Another solid display.

7 Denton – probably the pick of the forwards as he snubbed out a number of Saracens attacks and had a hand in many of Worcester’s attacks.

6 Faosiliva – another solid performance without really catching the eye. Some excellent defensive work.

7 van Velze – decent display from the experienced back row. Controlled the scrum and made useful contributions at the line-out.
