Police said an investigation is under way
A WOMAN from Hereford has been arrested on suspicion of wilful misconduct in a public office, police have confirmed.
West Mercia Police have released the woman, who is in her 40s, until tomorrow while an investigation is ongoing.
They were not able to confirm where the woman worked but the BBC has reported that the arrest is in connection with allegations of misconduct at Herefordshire Council.
The authority said it was unable to comment on police investigations but a spokesman confirmed the council works with the police, as appropriate, during any investigation.
