COUPLES planning to tie the knot in Dudley borough can find out about getting married at the Thomas Robinson Building at an open day this Saturday (October 7).
Dudley registrars are holding the wedding show bonanza, which will include the chance to take a look around the historic building and view the range of gowns available from ‘I do 2 Bridal Boutique.’
Alongside providing bespoke ceremonies for local couples, Dudley Council's registrars also offer personalised wedding stationery, a webcam and DVD facility, confetti cones and work in partnership with local business to offer wedding car hire, photography and bridal flowers. All will be on display at the open day.
This year’s event – taking place between 10am and 4pm – will also include a free prize draw for anyone attending to win a wedding at the Thomas Robinson Building, located in Cemetery Road, Lye.
Councillor David Stanley, cabinet member for corporate transformation and performance, said: “The wedding open days are always really popular, giving couples the chance to look around the venue and also see what other services are available at our wedding venues.
“And of course one lucky couple will walk away from the day with a free wedding ceremony, courtesy of Dudley Council and Dudley Registrars.”
The former Lye and Wollescote chapels, built in the Victorian-Gothic style, reopened in March 2016 after a £1.2m refurbishment.
