A CARE home worker from Bromyard has been selected from more than 4,600 staff across the UK for an award.

Josey Davies, a domestic assistant and relief support worker at Froome Bank in Bromyard, received the ‘Kindness Award’ at Shaw healthcare’s annual Shaw Star Awards.

Although acts of kindness take place every day at Shaw’s care homes, judges felt that the five finalists had displayed “considerable

compassion, empathy and kind-heartedness” in the way they carry out their work.

Ms Davies has recently taken on a relief support worker role at Froome Bank so that residents can get involved in doing more activities away from the home.

Her peers described how she likes to help people as soon as they ask and never says ‘in a minute’.

Ms Davies said: “I am so overwhelmed to be taking this award home this evening.  I work with so many kind people and to think that I have been selected out of so many people is amazing."

More than 200 people gathered at The Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire for the ceremony.
