GHOST hunters will be searching an historic Droitwich building to raise money for a road safety charity.

Droitwich-based recruitment agency MVP, whose Priory House office is said to be haunted, will open its doors on Friday, October 20 to host a paranormal investigation in aid of Brake.

The ghost of Captain Sir Richard Carbury who was stabbed to death by his fiancée Lucretia in the 17th century is believed to visit the house every 50 years.

Staff have reported taps turning themselves on and seeing ghostly figures over the years.

Guests at the event will be looked after by a qualified medium and encouraged to take part in paranormal and psychic experiments using specialised equipment such as movement and noise investigations, glass divination, table tipping and white noise experiments.

Vigils and seances will also be carried out.

All proceeds will go to Brake, who work with communities and organisations across the UK to stop the tragedy of road deaths and injuries, make streets and communities safer for everyone, and support people bereaved and seriously injured on roads.

Ellen Grove, marketing manager, said: "This event is back by popular demand having been so successful a few years back.

"We work with the fantastic company JP Paranormal who organise and host the evening, and are expecting people from across the UK to attend.

"Our office building is really a wonderful piece of history and we welcome those interested in its past to come experience this and the possibly of seeing one of our infamous ghosts.

"We are delighted to be working with Brake helping to support this worthy charity to continue their fantastic work aiding those touched by road safety issues’
