A BUSINESS director has shared CCTV footage that appears to show a burglar stealing tyres from his body repair shop.

Neil Brookes, aged 28, of The Woodlands, Ryall, Upton, was furious when he saw that his garage had been burgled.

But he also felt lucky that the criminal did not take any of his personal belongings, which were in storage at the yard.

The burglar stole about £150 worth of goods from M Brookes Body Repairs and Unique coatings Ltd, in Upton.

Mr Brookes said: "At first my heart sank when I saw a box of belongings on the floor of the yard and it unsettled me for most of my day knowing someone had been going through my stuff.

"Once we knew what he took we felt it could have been a lot worse. Now we have spent more money on installing more cameras and lights.

"He was seen pushing two of my old alloy wheels that I just had replaced on my truck under the gate and entered a shipping container that has all my personal belongings in it.

"It's all my house belongings as we are staying with parents to save for a mortgage.

"All he took was two disposable cameras - that were free with something - and a dog bed with extension leads in it. So worthless really.

"[He] entered the yard over a hedge and old fence at around 8:48pm and he set the security light off at 8:50pm. The video on the CCTV is an hour slow."

Mr Brookes said he is staying with his girlfriend's parents while saving up to buy a house.

Officers are appealing for information about the burglary, which took place on Wednesday, October 4.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "Electronic equipment and car parts were removed.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers would like anyone who was in the area or who witnessed people acting suspiciously at the time to come forward."
