ANIMAL charity the RSPCA will celebrate the first birthday of its Worcester rescue centre this Sunday, and members of the public are invited to join the festivities.
RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire’s Rescue & Rehoming Centre at The Holdings in Broomhall will host a party from noon to 3pm.
The centre was created after grants and donations from various organisations and the public.
Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: “We’re all delighted with how the first year has gone. We have rehomed 228 cats and kittens since last October and our cattery is still full with those cats most in need from throughout our branch area. With everyone’s help we are going from strength to strength.”
She added: “Everyone is invited to come along and meet our current residents. Feel free to bring birthday presents (toys and treats etc).
“We’ll be on hand for guided tours of the new rabbit and small animal unit, which has recently been built.”
