A CHEQUE for £510 was presented from St Peter's Parish Council to Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The amount was raised by the Tesco community team running the barbecue at the St Peter's Parish Festival in Power Park.

The festival, now in it’s fourth year, was supported by Worcester City Council community engagement team in collaboration with an array of partner organisations.

Sian Archer festival organiser, said: “We're all thrilled with how St Peter's Festival 2017 went.

"From the weather behaving beautifully, to the incredible turn out from so many members of the Parish, it was really an awesome day”.

Alex Booth, chairman of the festival organising committee added: “This £510 donation from the Parish Council to Acorns Hospice is a fitting finale to an exciting and challenging eight months of planning by the organising committee.

"The festival continues to grow and evolve every year and represents a rare opportunity for the local community to come together and enjoy a day of mostly free activities in one of our most loved parks.

“Huge thanks to everyone involved, especially the Tesco St Peter’s team and the parish and city council for making the 2017 Festival one to remember”.

Jo Jenkins, an employee at Tesco said: “Tesco thoroughly enjoyed being a big part of what is our biggest local community event in St Peter’s. Being able to help raise a fantastic sum for Acorns was the icing on the cake.”
