LITTLETON continued their good Midland League Division One form with a 2-0 home win against a hard-working Lichfield City side.

This was Littleton's fourth successive win in the competition and they moved up to eighth in the table.

Littleton started off like an express train and had already created two chances before they took the lead on seven minutes.

A good run by Dale Edwards down the left was followed by a cross which Bobbie Ager was on hand to convert from eight yards.

This was quickly followed by a powerful drive from Jordan Jones which was tipped over by the keeper.

The second goal was not long in coming as a lovely move cut Lichfield's defence open and from the half-cleared cross Michael Wright backheeled to double the score.

Littleton continued to dominate until half-time but seemed to lose their way after the interval.

Lichfield came more into the game and only a superb one handed save by Jack Hartopp prevented a goal.

The visitors continued to press but Littleton held firm with Simon Fitter outstanding.

In midweek Littleton lost 1-0 in the Smedley Crooke Memorial Charity Cup at home to Knowle.

On Saturday Littleton host league newcomers Ilkeston Town (3pm).
