TWO teenagers were caught with almost a dozen fireworks in a city park. 

The 16-year-olds were spotted in Gheluvelt Park, just after 8.15pm on Tuesday, October 17 by officers from West Mercia Police, who confiscated their haul. 

The pair were returned to an adult and have been reported to West Mercia Police's antisocial behaviour department. 

Tweeting from Worcester Cops, Worcester Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Selection of fireworks confiscated from two 16-year-olds on Gheluvelt Park."

They added: "It is illegal to buy fireworks under the age of 18. #seized #teamwork #know the law."

PCSO Harley Youngs, of the Worcester Cathedral Ward Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "At approximately 8.15pm hours on October 17, a local PCSO responded to hearing fireworks being set off in Gheluvelt Park while on patrol in the local area, another PCSO attended to assist, on approach six individuals were seen four made off, two teenagers were stopped who were possession of the fireworks which were later seized, both of the teenagers where returned to an appropriate adult and have been reported to the antisocial behaviour department to be dealt with by the legislation put in place by the antisocial behaviour act."

The fireworks have been marked for destruction.
