WORCESTERSHIRE is the place to be this weekend, if you want to see dark November skies lit up by spectacular fireworks.

In what by now is an annual tradition, fireworks will be lit and they will soar at the Sixways Stadium, the home of The Warriors, on Saturday November 4.

Sponsored by Nicol & Co, this is one of Worcestershire's biggest fireworks nights.

A spokesman said: "Fireworks at Sixways attracts people from all across the region with over 5000 people in attendance at last year's event.

"There'll also be a fairground and face painting for the kids to enjoy, on what will be another magical evening at Sixways.

Gates open at 5pm with the fireworks display starting at 7pm. Tickets are available on 01905 459309 or by visiting The Warriors Ticket Office.

Worcester Round Table's annual bonfire and fireworks display also comes to the Pitchcroft Racecourse site again on Saturday November 4.

The bonfire will be lit at 6.15pm and there will be fireworks from 7.30pm.

A spokesman said: "This is a fundraising event and all proceeds go to local good causes and charities.

"Over the years Worcester Round Table has distributed £40,000 to individuals, in cooperation with social services, New Hope, WMSAR, College for the Blind, St. Paul's hostel and many more."

Another popular fireworks display in Worcester will go ahead this year, despite ongoing building works at Red Hill Primary School.

The fireworks celebration at the school will take place on Friday November 3, with gates opening at 6pm. The fireworks will start at 7pm.

A spokesman said: "We promise to provide a dramatic display, which can be enjoyed by visitors from the local community.

"There will be a barbecue with burgers and sausages, a bar and refreshments as well as Bonfire Night favourites toffee apples, popcorn and candy floss. Visitors will be able to choose from glow sticks and novelty items as well as Neon face painting, all to raise school funds.

"Money raised from the event, will be put back into Red Hill Primary School."

Kerry Ward, Chairman of the Friends of Red Hill said: "This year the fireworks promised to be as spectacular as last year. We look forward to seeing lots of people."
