A WOMAN claims she has lost more than £10,000 after ordering her ‘dream’ campervan from South Africa.

Kerry Adams, aged 35, started to become suspicious about the deal a few months after paying the £9,652 deposit in January 2016.

Ms Adams, of Britten Drive, Malvern, took out a £20,000 loan to cover all of the costs of the Volkswagen campervan, which she bought from All Classics UK Limited.

She claims the company was supposed to rebuild the vehicle at a partner workshop in South Africa and then ship it to the UK.

She won a small claims court case against the company for £10,410 but it is appealing the judgement.

She said: “In July I realised it didn’t even have paint on. He [the director of All Classics] said paint was delayed.

“Alarm bells started ringing. I went to the small claims court and started a case on December 4.

“I got £10,410 that he has to give me back... including court costs. He hasn’t given me one penny. I’m powerless.

“I spoke to him [the director] lots of times on the phone. He lives in Leicester and his partner is in South Africa with the workshop.

“On October 24, 2016, I spoke with him on the phone for the last time.

“The only thing I can do now is pass the word onto others that these people have done this to me.”

Ms Adams, who works in Waitrose, in Edith Walk, shared a video on Facebook about her experience and said it has been seen by more than 50,000 people.

Ms Adams bought a Volkswagen campervan with the remaining £10,000 from her loan, fulfilling a 20-year dream.

All Classics previously told the BBC it offered to give Ms Adams her money back after she asked for a refund.

But the company said it had to sell the vehicle before it could refund her.

This meant the campervan had to be resprayed as Ms Adams requested it in the colours of Aston Villa.

All Classics was seeking legal advice to challenge the court judgement.
