YOUNG Christians across Worcester took part in a variety of community projects during half term.

The Noise Youth Mission, a three-day project, saw almost 100 young people aged from 11 to 18 get involved in community-spirited missions across the city.

The assignments ranged from holding a free community pop up cafe on the High Street to completing activities at care homes Latimer Court and Norton Hall.

Youngsters also took part in activities at Worcester Foodbank on Lowesmoor Wharf, Worcester Cathedral on College Yard and The Good Soil Trust on Sheringham Road, a charity supporting people who struggle with life for a variety of reasons including unemployment, homelessness, addiction, crime and mental health.

Reverend Amy Wearing, youth pastor for St Peter's Baptist Church, said: "It is wonderful to see friendships develop as they serve and to see their growing passion for bringing about change and making Worcester a better place to live for everyone.

"The mission was a great success with young people having the opportunity to make a real difference in the city and in the lives of individuals."

The mission, which took place between Thursday, October 26 and Saturday, October 28, is now in its third year.
