THE Good Vibrations Choir sang and signed for the first time when it performed at St Paul's Church, Worcester, on Friday, November 10.

The concert marked the 90st anniversary of Deaf Direct, a city-based charity that offers a range of services to help deaf and hard of hearing people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them.

Good Vibrations is a new choir, made up of hearing singers and signers who are partially or profoundly deaf.

The choir gave a moving and uplifting performance to an audience of more than 150 people, including the mayor and mayoress of Worcester, the mayor of Pershore and the High Sheriff of Worcestershire.

The evening also included a performance from Worcester Ukulele.

Rosemary Henman of the choir said: "As a new choir, we are looking to recruit new members, the qualification is that you should love to sing."

The choir meets at St Clement's Church in Henwick Road on Tuesdays from 7.15pm to 9pm. for more information, call Rosemary Henman on 07775 806203 or 01299 890443.
