THE name of Malvern’s French twin town, Bagneres-de-Bigorre, is now proudly displayed on road signs at three key entrances to the town.

Designed in distinctive green livery to match the existing signs for Malvern’s other twin, Marianske Lazne in the Czech Republic, the new signs will give maximum publicity to the growing friendships between Malvern and Bagneres.

Gina Butler, president of Malvern’s French twinning group, is delighted with this latest move.

She said: "We have worked hard, with the support of Malvern Town Council, to establish a real connection with our French friends.

"Since its inception in November 2015, the twinning has gained great momentum and has, with this public recognition, now truly come of age.

"We do hope that Malvern residents will respond positively to the signs and hopefully be inspired to join us."

The twinning committee is grateful to local county councillors Hodgson, O’Donnell, Raine and Tuthill for their donations towards the financing of this project.

The group is open to everyone and you do not have to speak French to become a member. To find out more, visit malvernbagnerestwinning.org or call Denise McCanna 07788 446874.
