DIRECTOR of rugby Rob Cook does not want to see any let up in training as Malvern bid to keep themselves in the promotion mix-up.

The Spring Lane side sit in second position in Midlands Two West (South) after winning six of their first seven games of the season.

But they lost 23-22 at home to lowly Silhillians in their last league encounter and Cook admitted his side now faced a “very demanding” fixture list.

“We have had a great start to the season,” said Cook whose side visit Barkers Butts on Saturday (2.30pm).

“This has been underpinned by great commitment and competition for places.

“Our challenge now as we move into a very demanding list of fixtures is to keep the numbers high at training and train with real intensity.

“It is great to have a number of players who have been absent or injured returning and we look forward to the games ahead.”
