POLICE smashed down the door of a house in Droitwich in the third drugs raid in the town in ten days.

Officers from the Droitwich Safer neighbourhood team, assisted by the force tasking team and a drugs dog, raided the house in Woodmans Way at 7.30am on Friday.

During the search, a small quantity of cannabis was found in the house.

A 34-year-old woman and a man aged 32, as well as two children were present inside at the address. No arrests have been made.

Sergeant Sarah Kent said: "Electronic devices have been seized from the address and will been examined for evidence of drug dealing. This investigation is still ongoing"

"We have a small but very motivate team here at Droitwich. This is the third drugs warrant we have carried out in ten days.

"I think this demonstrates our commitment to tackling this type of crime. We are finding that targeting drugs is also reducing demand other area of business such as anti-social behaviour, violent crime and thefts. Therefore it is beneficial to both the police and the community."

On Wednesday, officers raided a house at Farriers Corner on the Westlands estate and found a quantity of what is thought to be crack cocaine. A 44-year-old woman and two men, aged 23 and 17, were arrested.

And officers swooped on a house in Shepherds Place on Tuesday, November 14, and also secured a closure order so that the tenants were evicted and the property was boarded up.

A man, aged 27, and a 24-year-old woman were arrested at the house after a quantity of cannabis was found. They were both released the following day under police investigation, as officers continue their enquiries.
