MORE than 200 people in Worcester have been left disappointed after a Prosecco and balls event was cancelled.

The novelty event was due to feature an adult-only ball pit which doubled as a Prosecco bar.

Prime Live Group LTD, which was running the event, had a visit to Crystal Warehouse in Worcester pencilled in for Saturday March 10 as part of a UK tour.

However, Prime Live Group LTD has said it has been forced to pull out of its upcoming dates, with the company promising to refund customers to "the best of our abilities."

Well-known ticket website Skiddle, was responsible for selling the tickets at £14 a head and the website claims that full refunds are available for cancelled events.

A total of 231 people had said they were going to the event, which has seen a number of tour dates cancelled previously, including in Sheffield, Warwick, Belfast and Shrewsbury.

A statement on the Prosecco & Balls Comes to Worcester Facebook event said: "It is with deep regret that we are forced to cancel all upcoming Prosecco and balls events.

"Around 2-3 months ago a hate group was formed against the company by a small group of disgruntled customers who believed our events weren't up to their expectations and made threats to damage any future events unless we adhere to some extreme negotiations.

"A small group of people have seemed to create a movement around our events being a "scam" or part of "fraud".

"Although these claims are completely false it seems the movement behind damaging our company has managed to contact some of our venues convincing them we are a scam and we have ill intentions.

"This entire process has become an extreme domino effect and is ruining all our potential events.

"As a company Prime Live Group LTD have invested £10,000s into all our upcoming events and therefore we will be looking to recover this over time through the sale of all the company's assets.

"It seems simple rumours and bullying tactics have forced us to cease trading as a company and seek advice from an insolvency agency.

"We are midst the legal process for this immediately and will look to refund everybody to the best of our abilities. It was never our intention to not run these events.

"We cannot apologise enough for any hardship this will bring you however please understand it is recommended by the police, insolvency agency, various solicitors and our staff that we feel necessary to terminate this business in immediate effect."

The company thanked its loyal customers for their support.
