THREE swimmers from Lower Wick Lifesaving Club were selected to represent the West Midlands at the National Lifesaving Championships in Leeds on Sunday.

Ryan Parry and Nathaniel Barnsley Staight entered as a pair into the senior boys category and Natasha Parry entered the ladies category.

Each of the competitors had to complete a pool initiative test, resuscitation test, a swim and tow and a timed rope throw.

Ryan and Nathaniel came 10th out of 16 teams with Ryan clocking the second fastest swim and tow time in his category and Nathaniel 8th fastest.

Natasha also came 9th out of 15 and took second place in the resuscitation test.

With the combined efforts of all the competitors from the West Midlands, the team came fifth overall.
