MORE details have emerged of what was stolen from a pub which hosted a free Christmas Day dinner for the city's homeless and lonely.

An Amazon Fire tablet, a Sony Experian mobile phone, two charity boxes containing around £20 each and a bottle of whiskey were stolen from The Chestnut Tree Inn on Lansdown Road in Worcester between 2.30am and 2pm on Tuesday (December 26).

Landlord Colin Robinson, nicknamed Mad Pierre, welcomed 50 people to his pub on Christmas Day and raised over £750 for charity.

The money raised will be split between the Midlands Air Ambulance, The Tommy Atkins Centre, St Richard’s Hospice, St Paul’s Hostel and Maggs Day Centre.

Mr Robinson planned to report the incident to police on Wednesday (December 27), admitting he and his staff “didn’t notice anything was wrong for half the day”.

“It looked like a bomb had hit it anyway, but when we started clearing up, the barman wanted his tablet but it had gone,” he said. “Then we started to put things together.”

Mr Robinson estimated the value of the thefts was around £200.

“They [the thieves] didn’t do any damage, it was just annoying,” he added. “There’s a lot of desperate people, especially at this time of year.”

Police are asking witnesses to call 101 quoting the incident number 375s 271219.
