A NIGHTCLUB boss accused of sexual assault and drugs offences has insisted that he is innocent, telling the Worcester News: “I will fight this through the courts.”

Darren Pinches, 51, owner of Bushwackers and Browns, is charged with one count of sexual assault on a female and one count of administering a substance with intent to stupefy/overpower to allow sexual activity.

Pinches, of Berkley Gardens, Fernhill Heath, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday (January 4) charged in connection with an incident in the city on January 1, 2017.

He was also charged with possessing a controlled class A drug, cocaine, following an incident in Fernhill Heath on January 13, 2017.

Pinches will next appear at Worcester Crown Court on February 1.

His legal team consists of solicitor Mohammed Hussain, barrister Amiot Vollenweider and Anthony Metzher QC.

Mr Hussain said Pinches had already indicated a not guilty plea at the magistrates court and would formally enter a not guilty plea as soon as he was given the opportunity to do so.

He added: “He vehemently denies all allegations in respect of the charges and will stand in front of his peers and let them deal with it. He believes in the British justice system.”

The Pinches family own Sin in New Street, Browns at the Quay, and Bushwackers in Trinity Street.
