There have been nearly 25,000 attempts to access pornographic websites in Parliament since the general election according to official government data
The number of attempts, 24, 473,which are being made from the parliamentary network, equate to around 160 requests every day.
There are more than 8,000 computers on the parliamentary network, which according to a parliamentary spokesperson are ‘used by MPs, peers, their staff and both Houses.’
The spokesman said: “All pornographic websites are blocked by parliament’s computer network. The vast majority of attempts to access them are not deliberate. The date shows requests to access websites, not visits to them.
“This data also covers personal devices used when logged on to parliament’s guest wifi.”
A Freedom of Information request carried out separately, showed that between January and October 2017, there were at least 2, 751, 755 attempts to access blocked websites from the parliamentary network.
