STUDENTS from Bishop Perowne CE College took to the stage on and performed dance pieces to a packed audience as part of its winter dance show.

Pupils from all year groups performed a mixture of solo routines and group pieces, and BTEC and GCSE dancers showcased some of their exam work.

Mark Pollard, headteacher at Bishop Perowne CE College, said: "We have some amazing dancers at the school and the success of the show is testament to the hard work and commitment shown by them and our staff.

"These types of performances give our students the opportunity to regularly perform to a live audience and hone their skills, and the winter dance show was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone that attended."

Bishop Perowne CE College is a Specialist Arts College and has retained the Artsmark Gold status since 2003.

Every year a group of students, who have shown a commitment to the arts, are welcomed on to its Specialist Intake programme.

The students receive a bespoke programme of arts training during their time at the school.

The show took place on Thursday, December 14.
