A FAMILY have 'lost everything' in a devastating house fire.

Firefighters were called to the blaze in Woodmans Way, on Droitwich's Westlands estate, at 2.47am today and stayed at the scene for over six hours.

The family-of-five inside the house managed to escape the fire unscathed and friends have already raised £800 to replace their lost possessions.

Amanda Davies, aged 31, said the fire erupted in her garden shed at around 2.30am.

She said: “I was sat watching TV in my living room and the electrics went off.

“I went into my kitchen and saw there was a fire. I have no idea what caused it. It was in the outdoor shed, which is attached to the home.

“I saw flames. They were coming out through the shed door. I got my kids from their bedrooms.

“The fire spread from the shed into my kitchen. It destroyed my kitchen, my bedroom above the kitchen and all my children’s Christmas toys.

“There’s absolutely nothing I can save from the house. I feel devastated. I lost photos of my dad that passed away 12 years ago.

“The fire reached every room in the house bar one room. One bedroom was spared. The living room was more smoke damage.”

The mother added that she does not have contents insurance.

Ms Davies added that family and friends have donated clothes to her, her partner, Dan Watson, and her three boys Ben, aged seven, Thomas, nine, and Joshua, 10.

Wychavon District Council has paid for them to stay at a hotel in Wychbold until Monday.

Lisa Bannister, who set up a Just Giving page for the family, has been friends with Ms Davies for 10 years.

Ms Bannister, of Singer Hill, Droitwich, said: “She’s my best friend. She would do anything for anybody.”

The 43-year-old added that when she went to Ms Davies’ home this morning she found her standing outside watching the blaze.

She said: “You could see the despair on her face. She just kept saying ‘I want my purse’.”

None of the family were hurt in the fire and friends are now trying to collect clothes and shoes for them.

A total of five fire crews - from Worcester, Droitwich and Bromsgrove - were sent to the blaze.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 2.47am and the last crew left at 9.10am.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police also attended the incident.
