A PEDESTRIAN who died following a crash near West Midlands Safari Park has been named by police as 36-year-old Kirk Busby.
The collision, involving a van, took place on the A456 near the park in Bewdley at 4.40am on Monday (January 29).
Mr Busby, of Kidderminster, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road closed between Bewdley and Sutton Park Road, Kidderminster, while emergency services worked at the scene, reopening around 9.20am.
A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection to the incident and has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 51s of January 29.
West Mercia Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw Mr Busby walking from the general direction of Bewdley towards Kidderminster.
