A MAN and woman were attacked in their own home by robbers.

Two men knocked on the door of the house in Drake Avenue, Dines Green, Worcester, and attacked the pair on Tuesday evening.

They were rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The offenders then stole items from the home and left in an unknown direction.

Police were called to the home shortly after 11.30pm to a report of an aggravated burglary.

Police are now conducting re-assurance patrols in the area.

The attack is believed to have taken place at a house near the junction with Tudor Way.

Locals said they believed it was a stabbing but police were unable to confirm that.

Investigating officer, PC Chris Buffery from West Mercia Police said: "Investigations are now ongoing to identify and locate those responsible and a number of enquiries are ongoing.

"At this stage, it is believed to be an isolated incident.

"Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be conducting reassurance patrols in the area and carrying out house-to-house enquiries as we investigate the incident, and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who witnessed the offence.
