A MAN and a woman sustained head injuries after they were attacked with a hammer and blade during a robbery in Dines Green, police have revealed.

As we previously reported, two men knocked on the door of a house in Drake Avenue, Dines Green, Worcester, and attacked the pair on Tuesday, January 30. 

Police were called to the home shortly after 11.30pm.

The man sustained head and hand injuries and remains in hospital, the woman sustained head injuries which required hospital treatment, she has since been discharged.

The offenders then stole items from the property, including a BSA lightning airgun with a brown leather strap, and fled the scene. 

Investigating officer PC Liam Mather from West Mercia Police said: "Investigations are now ongoing to identify and locate those responsible and a number of enquiries are ongoing. 

"At this stage, it is believed to be an isolated incident.

"Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team have been conducting reassurance patrols in the area and carrying out house-to-house enquiries as we investigate the incident, and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who witnessed the offence. 

"In particular, we would like to speak to anyone who was in Tudor Way or Drake Avenue around this time, and would also like to speak to the drivers of a black car, a white van and a silver van who were seen to pass the address around the relevant times and may be able to assist with enquiries."
