A FIRE has been put out at The Old Greyhound in New Street, Worcester.

Fire crews were called to a fat fryer ablaze at 10.57am this morning, but it has now been put out.

Tape was put around the scene as fire engines tackled the blaze.

A Tweet by @HWFireControl said: "@HWFireWorcs extinguished a fat fryer at a #Worcester city centre pub."

A spokesman for The Old Greyhound said that it had been a "little electrical fault" which the fire service had been called to as a precaution. The pub did not need to close at any point.
