TWO people were seen running from an asbestos contaminated hotel earlier today.

A man and a woman were running from the Raven Hotel in Droitwich earlier this afternoon at around 2.30pm.

The hotel is currently cordoned off because it is contaminated with asbestos which can cause fatal lung disease if you are exposed to it for a long-term period.

Police arrived at the hotel and that was when the pair ran from the hotel.

Superintendent Tom Harding said: "We want to try and identify who these individuals are but most importantly warn them of the precautionary measures they need to take having potentially be in contact with asbestos.

"Although they do not need to seek medical attention, we advise these people to ensure that they thoroughly wash themselves, the clothes and shoes they have been wearing and anyone they have been in contact with should do the same.

"Any fabrics or materials they have been in contact with should be washed and advice should be sought from asbestos specialists in relation to anything else that may have been in contact with the individuals.

"This premises is cordoned off for very good reason and I would urge the two individuals or anyone who may know who they are to ensure they are informed of this advice. I would also strongly advise people to adhere to the closure of the site."
