THE world renowned electronic music festival 'Hideout' will come to Worcester for one of the biggest dance music events ever to hit the city.

On March 10th, local house music brand, Pro-ject, who are partners with Hideout will put on the show at Worcester's Crystal Warehouse, in Foundry Street.

The show will be headlined by DJ Magazine Award winner Latmun, one of the most in demand DJs in the scene, with support from major UK DJ Tom Shortez, and Pro-ject's founder, house music DJ and producer, Jay Newman.

Newman and his freinds set up pro-ject 4 years ago. They created a Facebook event called Worcester Warehouse Project, which had 2000 like within the hour.

"It was crazy" says Newman, "We kept it fairly secretive and didnt tell people much about it, and the tickets completely sold out in a day, which made us realise there was a demand for something like this."

Since then, Pro-ject have grown to be Worcester's biggest warehouse events brand and their raves have brought some of the biggest house DJs in the world to Worcester.

Newman, from Worcester, who also tours with major music company Ministy Of Sound says he got fed up with having to travel long distances to hear underground music.

"Theres no underground music scene in Worcester. Before we started Pro-ject there was nothing like this. I was playing gigs across the UK in Birmingham and London and saw how big the scene was there which is why I decided to bring it to Worcester."

DJs who have played at Pro-ject events include Latmun, who Newman says is the best British DJ and Producer, and and CamelPhat who topped the US Billboard Club songs chart with their hit 'Cola' last year.

"When we first started doing events, there was no way we would have got names like these."

Newman hopes to get DJ Jamie Jones to play at future events.

"If we could get him, we'd be doing very well" he added.

Clubbers are travelling from all over the UK to this huge event which is teamed with Hideout Festival, the best summer dance music festival in the world which will be covered by Radio 1 this year.

Ravers can expect a huge production and venue transformation, with Co2 Jets, LED walls and festival sound systems making this the only event of it's type in Worcester.
