A CHEF working at a luxury country house hotel in the Cotswolds, who took part in last year’s BBC MasterChef: The Professionals, has joined up with five other contestants from the show to offer a pop-up dining event.Tom Moody, a sous chef at The Slaughters Manor House, reached the semi-finals of the prestigious television cookery competition in December last year but has kept in touch with several of his rivals.

Six of them are coming together to present a one-off six course MasterChef Dinner at The Slaughters Manor House on Sunday May 13.

The other fellow MasterChef semi-finalist chefs are 28-year-old private chef from the Lake District Matthew Campbell; former Coventry fish and chip shop worker Leo Kattou who is now a sous chef at acclaimed Michelin starred restaurant Simpsons in Birmingham; London-based MasterChef: The Professionals finalist Jamie Park who is head chef at The Frog, a British restaurant that serves food with an Asian twist; Manchester-born sous chef Steven Lickley who works in London at catering service Vacherin; and Tom Peters – a senior sous chef at Roux in London.

The gang of ex-MasterChef contestants staged their first pop-up event in London on Saturday January 27 at Roux, Parliament Square, London, hosted by Tom. He said the six chefs had kept in touch regularly after the TV cookery series was filmed and had spoken about all cooking together again.

The team also presented a pop-up dining event at Frog E1 in February and Simpson’s in March and now they are heading for the Cotswolds to offer local food lovers the chance to experience their particular brand of cuisine.

Guests will have a chance to meet the chefs as well as enjoy a six course dinner with matched wines, followed by a further opportunity to talk to the chefs later in the evening.
