HERE are some more pictures of our county’s talented young sports stars in action.

The Worcester News wants to see more of your photos celebrating the sporting talent of children across Worcestershire to publish in the newspaper and online.

Below-strength Welland under-18, hit by unavailability and injury knew they had to win this match in order to retain any chance of retaining the Evesham Ambassador League title.

Welland's more direct style that gave them the early upper hand on a difficult pitch but a well drilled and disciplined Pegasus side defended in numbers to restrict the home team's opportunities.

Half an hour into the match, a speculative lob beat the home keeper followed later by well-drilled shot by the Pegasus left-winger to put the visitors two goals ahead.

Welland again took the offensive in the second half but the Pegasus goalkeeper was in inspired form, saving a penalty and turning away several shots.

Despite hitting a post and pushing forward Welland Juniors were unable to break through and the final score remained 2-0 to the visitors.

In July, Welland will be making a return visit to the Gothia Cup, in Gothenburg, Sweden to take part in the acclaimed unofficial world youth cup before most of the players move on to university and senior football .

As well as football and rugby, we’re featuring pictures of sports including cricket, netball, hockey, athletics, gymnastics, swimming and martial arts - and our photographers will be out taking shots.

We also want pictures from parents, coaches, spectators and amateur photographers who want to see their images in the newspaper and online – and seen by tens of thousands of people – with their name published to credit them.

We’re looking for team photos before the match as well as action shots, and just the name of the club or clubs involved. There’s no need to send us the names of the children.

If you’re involved in youth sport and want us to cover your team, or you can send us pictures of matches, please email editor Michael Purton at michael.purton@newsquest.co.uk
