A LEADING child psychotherapist has been announced as one of the speakers at a national conference hosted in the city.

Helen Randall, a consultant child and adolescent psychotherapist based in Malvern, who has more than 35 years of experience working therapeutically with children and families, will speak at Early Years ‘Nature Nurtures’ conference at the Hive on May 19.

Hannah Reeve, co-founder of Nature Nurtures, said: “We are delighted to welcome Helen.

“We are excited about the unique insight she will provide, as this offers our delegates the chance to think deeply about children’s internal experiences and the way in which they make sense of the world, and to challenge their existing beliefs and assumptions.

“This truly is a valuable and potentially life-changing opportunity.”

Co-founder Helen Reeve, said: “The perspective from which we view young children has a huge impact on the expectations that we have of them, the meaning that we attribute to their behaviours, and how we respond to them.

“These in turn shape the dynamic and interplay between adult and child, and therefore have a significant impact on our capacity to establish and maintain supportive, nurturing child-caregiver relationships.”

Other speakers include Deborah Carlisle Solomon, former executive director of Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE), and Robin Einzig, founder of the ‘Visible Child’ approach.
