RUBBISH has been dumped on Offerton Lane, near Sixways, on the edge of Worcester.

A Worcester News reader, who does not wish to be named, submitted these photographs showing the mess that has been made.

Previous fly tipping offences include a sofa, wardrobe, mattress and headboard among the items piled up in Warndon Lane, Worcester, in January.

The city council has warned on previous occasions that fly-tipping is a criminal act; people caught illegally dumping waste can be fined up to £50,000 or face five years in prison.

It says it will investigate all incidents of fly-tipping and prosecute offenders, where sufficient evidence is available.

A Worcester City Council spokesman said:"Worcester City Council is aware of ongoing fly tipping issues in the Offerton Lane area.  We are working with partners to undertake enforcement actions to resolve the situation."

If members of the public spot someone fly-tipping, the council has urged them to take down as many relevant details as possible, including vehicle registrations.
