A CHARITY football tournament is taking place this Saturday to raise money for Worcester's breast unit.

Organised by Warndon Villages Football Club, the fundraiser will feature an 11 aside match and a tournament at Little Perdiswell football pitches in Droitwich Road, Worcester.

Around 60 people are taking part in the fundraiser starts at 2pm on Saturday all in aid of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

Organisers are inviting people to come along and watch and help raise funds.

The unit supports the women and men of Worcestershire with their breast care needs.

It was established in April 2016, following the work of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign, which succeeded in raising the £1.8 million needed to fund the creation of the unit.

James Badham, a coach at the Warndon Villages Football Club, said his sister had recently been given the all clear after receiving care and treatment at the unit and the club wanted to put something back into the community.

All the teams have now registered and organisers are inviting the public to come along to watch. Entry is free.

Collection boxes will be available for people to make donations.

Coffee and snacks will also be available at the shop.
