THREE suspects have been charged with drug and firearms offences after a car chase.

A grey Nissan Juke was brought to a halt yesterday afternoon by several police Range Rovers at the Sixways roundabout junction on the M5.

Photos issued by the police show seized Class A drugs and and a canister of tear gas.

Eyewitness Alan A Levy posted on the Worcester News Facebook page:  “Myself and colleagues saw the aftermath quite clearly from our office! There was a grey car that had hit the central part of Sixways roundabout - we don't know if it was from a police chase, but there were six marked police cars there when we watched very soon after, so we suspect it was a chase!

"A man jumped out of his car, scrambled down the central part of the roundabout (with trees etc), he was chased and dragged out by the police and promptly cuffed / apprehended. An exciting part of a normal office day for us."

Marie Fish said: "We saw a Nissan car get stopped by the police and armed response units.

"The driver tried to escape and head into the central foliage of the roundabout, however the police caught up with him.

"They stayed at the scene to search the car and surrounding area.

"Traffic was delayed for 30 minutes approximately."

A man who drove past the M5 junction 6 roundabout at 12.40pm said he saw four police cars, as well as one unmarked police car and a police van.

He said there were also two ambulances, while he saw the Nissan stopped at the scene.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said a crew was sent out to the motorway but was not needed.
