AN evening of cello music raised £3,000 to support the care provided by a Worcester hospice.
More than 50 guests attended the event, held at Birtsmorton Court in Malvern, which featured music performed by Cellissimo – a quartet formed in 2016.
The money was raised to support St Richard’s Hospice’s care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, their loved ones and bereaved people across Worcestershire.
The evening was hosted by hospice patron Rosalie Dawes and her husband Nigel Dawes, and was sponsored by Andrew Grant, who is also a patron of the charity.
Tricia Cavell, fundraising director at St Richard’s Hospice, said: "The evening was brilliant and we were thrilled to have raised so much money to support our free hospice care.
"We would like to thank our generous hospice patrons for both hosting and sponsoring such a wonderful event; the talented Cellissimo for a fantastic performance – and all those who
volunteered on the night."
Alongside a varied programme of music, guests also took part in a raffle on the evening – helping to raise funds for St Richard’s.
St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative and end of life care for patients living with life-limiting illnesses and supports their loved ones.
Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,000 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.
St Richard’s is an independent charity and is grateful for all donations to help it continue its work.
